Jim Saber, President & CEO
I hope you are all enjoying your summer and trying to work in some well-earned time to spend relaxing with family and friends. In Michigan, we sometimes take for granted that we are surrounded by the beauty of our great lakes and attractions across the state that people come from all over the world to experience.
When the team of Michigan Department of Transportation, Electreon, Jacobs, Michigan Central, DTE Energy, Ford, the City of Detroit, and NextEnergy started work earlier this year in Detroit to design and build the nation’s first one-mile stretch of inductive roads to wirelessly charge electric vehicles, we knew it would accelerate innovation for zero-emissions transportation and create new business models. But I could not have guessed what the global reach of this project would be. Earlier this month, Time Magazine included this project as one of the reasons Detroit is one of the greatest places in 2022!
Please check out Eric McDonald’s blog for more info on wireless charging.
