Greetings!

I hope that all of you reading this are healthy and staying safe as we continue to adjust to the “new normal”. The NextEnergy team has been quite productive this month! We’re excited to share with you new activities and projects that are launching to accelerate our path towards cleaner, smarter, and more accessible communities and cities.

Earlier this month, the round five recipients of the PlanetM Pilot program were announced. Our team is now working with each Michigan company to finalize agreements and launch the solutions in Detroit, East Lansing, Lansing and Silver Lake Sand Dunes.

NextEnergy is thrilled to be part of a dynamic team led by EcoWorks, which has been selected by the Office of Sustainability to lead the creation of Detroit’s Climate Strategy. Team members include Center for Neighborhood Technology, Data Driven Detroit, Elevate Energy, Good Done Daily, and Professor Tony Reames. This strategy will help the city achieve its bold emissions reduction targets, including 100 percent of municipal emissions by 2050.

Please check out the thought-provoking “New City Revenue from Familiar Sources” post by NextEnergy’s industry partner Fybr, a leading developer of smart city technologies and platforms.

Stay tuned for more on these pilots and continue to look for updates on our happenings through our website and social media channels. Also, please feel free to connect with our team virtually.
