Heat dissipation in LED lighting systems decreases energy efficiency and can reduce the lighting system’s life span. To improve heat dissipation, Lumecon has created the Lumecon ETD (Enhanced Thermal Dissipation) System. The ETD Systems are built to ensure long life, resulting in 90,000 hours of continued operation. In addition, Lumecon has developed outdoor LED lighting fixtures with a wireless control module that can be controlled from a mobile device. Lumecon utilizes the ETD System and wireless control module in a variety of outdoor LED lighting systems including luminaires, floodlights, and wall packs.

NextEnergy helped Lumecon develop strategic connections with industry stakeholders and identify technology demonstration opportunities. NextEnergy invited Lumecon to participate as a speaker in the Michigan Advanced Lighting Conference, providing the company an opportunity to communicate with a targeted audience of industry stakeholders and end-users. In addition, NextEnergy provided project management and funding to the DTE E-Challenge for Energy Efficiency, a competition where companies submit proposals to demonstrate early-stage energy technology with energy efficiency solutions. Lumecon was selected as one of the winners of the competition and their fixtures and wireless control technology is now being demonstrated at the Detroit Zoo.
