Welcome Jeffrey Hoang!

We are excited to announce that Jeffrey Hoang has recently joined the NextEnergy team as a Communications and Engagement Associate. Prior to joining our team, Jeffrey worked as an intern with Michigan Clean Cities. He holds bachelor’s degrees in political science and communication.

What are you most looking forward to in your role at NextEnergy

I am excited to continue learning as I meet and work with our different stakeholders. The emerging technologies and clean energy solutions that we support are creating an innovative future that no one knows the final end to. As a communications professional, I feel very lucky to be at the forefront with all of our partners and to learn from them about their work.

What are the three most interesting developments that you see happening in the energy space these days?

The most peculiar thing I see occurring is the growing use of AI and other self-guided technology being implemented with mobility. Self-driving cars are the biggest example of this, but even smaller forms of mobility with delivery drones and smaller mobile units could dramatically shift our society.

Another interesting development is the growing use of alternative fuels like hydrogen being researched to see how they can integrate into everyday use. Our colleague, Lauren Mattar, has been involved in this work of figuring out how to begin implementing Hydrogen’s widespread utilization, which is super cool.

The most interesting idea to me is a bit smaller with potential self-storage concepts for electrification. As electricity becomes the cleanest fuel source powering our vehicles and homes, the ability for individuals to create energy from solar panels and even store it opens a whole new world. Stored energy could build a backup source for homes or even be sold back into the electric grid for others to use.
